I did Baby A’s newborn photography session will in the comfort and familiarity of his own home. An In-home newborn session is perfect when you have two littles under two as it helps create a relaxed and comfortable environment, so that Baby A and his older sister both, can feel happy and aren’t over stimulated.

It was wonderful to watch the interactions between Baby A and his sister as we photographed them. Big sister was so proud of her new role and couldn’t wait to show off her baby brother to anyone who would listen!

We started the session with simple lifestyle photos. Just Baby A, his sister and parents lovingly gazing at him. As the session progressed we added in a few vintage props that mom had chosen. I used a simple hand-knit blankets, swaddles and outfits for the baby. As a Palo Alto Newborn Photographer, I work with a number of vendors that sell the most adorable baby outfits and props for newborn photographers only! all the props and outfits for the baby you see here are handmade in the US.

At the pre-booking consultation, mom shared with me that she really wanted some photos of Baby A in a neutral color palette with pastel earthy tones. This color palette was also complimentary with the decor for baby A’s home and nursery. I love being able to capture the essence of a family and their home in the photos I take. Being a full service Palo Alto Newborn Photographer, my goal is to make sure your photos don’t hide in a cloud or hard drive but are displayed proudly in your home! I knew mom and dad both were interested in decorating their home with images from the session so every photo was intentional and created with this intent in mind!

My fav part of the session is usually the sibling photos. Nothing can beat a little toddler holding a newborn!! Big sister H was so gentle with the baby and really help on to the little one tightly.

For mom and dad’s photos with their new babe, I used the natural light coming in through the windows. I always love a good window light portrait! Their home had the most gorgeous morning light coming in through the living room windows and as you can tell, it was just a very stress free experience for mom and dad and the outcome, just as beautiful!

Mom ordered a huge canvas print of the photo below for their living room and I think it will be a wonderful reminder of this beautiful time in their lives.

The newest addition to the world-Baby A- is so cute and perfect. It’s amazing to think about all of the adventures this little one will go on in their lifetime. As a Palo Alto Newborn Photographer, I feel so privileged to be able to document these early days for my clients.

Each new arrival is such a special event, and I love getting to know the families I work with. Each session is unique, and I really enjoy capturing the personality of each baby.
