From complimentary hair and make-up to catered lunch at the studio- I’m here to make this an easy and relaxed shoot day
4. Ordering Appt
We will do a virtual ordering appointment where we’ll select your fav images from the gallery and design your artwork.
5. Enjoy Your Photos!
I will hand deliver your final prints and artwork and even come install your gallery walls for you so you don’t have to!

I offer in studio cake smash and celebration sessions that help busy parents capture their growing children! All my cake smash shoots are non-theme based and include outfits, hair and makeup for mom and the balloon set up. I’d love to chat with you to understand your vision and help you create this time capsule for your little one!

Q: What is the best time of year for outdoor family photos in the Bay Area?
A: Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) offer the best light and greenery for outdoor Bay Area family sessions. All outdoor sessions are scheduled at golden hour, about one hour before sunset, for the most flattering natural light.
Q: How long does a family portrait session take?
A: Outdoor golden-hour family sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes. In-studio family sessions run 2 to 3 hours and include outfit changes, hair and makeup for mom, and time for kids to warm up to the camera.
Q: What should we wear for our Bay Area family photoshoot?
A: Coordinated, not matching. Choose a palette of 2 to 3 complementary colors and stick to it, and avoid loud patterns or large logos. For in-studio sessions you have full access to our client wardrobe with curated options for the whole family.
Q: Can you photograph families with toddlers and babies who may not cooperate?
A: Absolutely, this is our specialty. Kirtana has years of experience with busy Bay Area families and knows how to get genuine smiles and relaxed moments from even the most camera-shy toddlers. We never rush and always leave room for breaks.
