Hi! Welcome to Golden Shutter Portraits! I’m Kirtana, the photographer at Golden Shutter Portraits. I started GSP in 2016 with a vision to create timeless art that you and your family will love and cherish for years to come! All  newborn and baby milestone portrait sessions take place in my Belmont newborn photography studio, which is conveniently located in the heart of the SF Bay Area peninsula and easily accessible from San Francisco, Palo Alto, San Jose and Fremont.

My goal as a newborn photographer is to make sure I capture every little detail of your new tiny human! I custom design every session (you can read more about the process here) to make sure all colors, props, setups and outfits used in the session are complimentary to your style and home décor. Being a new parent is hard, which is why I provide everything for the session. I have a huge selection of rustic, modern props, newborn baby outfits, wraps, headbands, bonnets and hats. All my props are hand-made by some of the best vendors in the newborn prop industry. Newborn safety is top priority at Golden Shutter Portraits. I always work with a trained assistant and ensure that baby is spotted in props and is posed in comfortable poses.

In addition to newborn sessions, I also photograph the baby’s first year milestones, maternity and family sessions. These sessions can be done in studio or on location. I personally love outdoor family and maternity sessions which are done an hour before sunset and I travel all over the Bay Area, from San Francisco to San Jose and East Bay for these.

My style of photography is a mix of candid and posed portraiture, but all focused on telling a story about you and yours! As you go through my portfolio, you’ll notice that I love using vibrant colors in studio and often choose locations that allow me to capture beautiful sunsets and the stunning twilight sky for my outdoor sessions! I often choose locations that are off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of the San Francisco crowds- this allows for my clients to truly enjoy the session as a family without the awkwardness of being watched by strangers and only adds to the portrait experience I strive to offer!

My clients love showing off their final portraits as wall art in their homes or preserving them as sweet memories in an heirloom album that they can one day pass on to their children. Each product offered by GSP is custom-made to match your style and preferences. All products are archival quality, which means they will last up to a 100 years (if not more!).
